Upcoming Events
Next Tuesday is the final week of the current training block so members will get the chance to compete for the coveted Caley Cup in the regular end-of-block pursuit race. Ian has sent the following special message about the evening …
The Caley Cup Pursuit Race, March 27th.
It’s been noted that the standard of dress in previous events has fallen well below what is considered acceptable so, for the run on March 27th, anybody turning up dressed as Elvis, a Pixy, Darth Vader, any super-hero or as an octopus (or equivalent) will be subject to an ON THE SPOT FINE of £2.
And just to balance things up, anybody wearing suitable athletic-type clothing will also be subject to the same £2 fine. It’s only fair.
Angela will be collecting the money in a bucket and all proceeds will go to Sport Relief.
This is a special one-off event to mark LLV=5 and won’t happen again until the next time.
We’ll only be five once, so please enter into the spirit of things.
If you want to go to The Caley in fancy dress then it’s up to you.
(Please note that LLV cannot be held responsible for the personal safety of any Pixies on Leven High Street during the hours of darkness)
On Saturday morning is the John Muir Ultra from Port Seton to Dunbar along the John Muir way via Aberlady, Gullane and North Berwick. Robin Pate is running the full 50km distance. Davie Hogg and Jim Dunstan are teaming up to run 25km each in the relay. Karen Capewell is also doing the relay with teammate Kevin Funnel of Falkland Trail Runners.
The Tay Ten road race organised by Perth Road Runners is on Sunday morning. Among the 350 names on the start list are LLV members Jemma Guild, Kevin Hughes, Sara Ives, Susan Kerr, Bryan McLaren, Bex Oakenfull, Karen Britten, Lynne Hughes and Karen Richards.
