Time Trial
The last week of every 10 week training block sees the Leven Las Vegas time trial organised by Chris Russell. Runners are challenged to run a 1.8 mile course around two laps of the Energy Park in Methil in an attempt to improve on their previous best time for the trial. The runner who records the biggest improvement wins the coveted Caley Cup trophy.
On this occasion the clear winner was James Scott who set a fantastic time of 10:24, improving his previous time by more than two minutes and achieving 8th position on the all-time list of best times over the course.
In second place also with a very impressive performance was Gillian Hewitt who finished in 11:45, an improvement of 50 seconds. Gillian is now the 4th fastest ever lady runner in the time trial and if she continues to improve she must be odds on to beat the female record of 11:30 before long.
Also making significant improvements of more than 30 seconds were Louise Morris and Gayle Moran.
The full results were as follows:

Presentation of the Caley Cup was held in the Caledonian Hotel in Leven where Lynda English was given a special mug for 100 attendances at Leven Las Vegas training while Alan Davie, Jan Spittal, Louise Morris and Diane Napier received chocolate medals for reaching 25 week and 10 week milestones.

Parkruns
It was great to see some of Leven Las Vegas’s new recruits at the weekend parkruns.
Jaime Muir beat her inaugural time from last week to set a new PB at St Andrews.
Angie Wood and Kirsty Barclay were first time visitors at Kirkcaldy parkrun, where Paula McLean set yet another PB.
Neil Beard was a first time runner at Elgin parkrun.

Dramathon
The Dramathon is a marathon distance race along the Speyside Way from Glenfarclas distillery to Glenfiddich distillery passing several other distilleries along the route. By getting stamped at each participating distillery, runners can then pick up the corresponding miniatures at the end of the race. There is also a half marathon distance which is run over the second half of the marathon course.
Matt Holden ran the marathon, finishing 52nd in 3:44:06.
Ruth Cruickshank did the half marathon and was 102nd in 2:14:57.
Hoping to add photos of Ruth and Matt as soon as possible.
